I have tried not to write anything about the Watford Conservative Association. This is because I think most people are not interested and because it is a bit private I suppose-you have to be a member to be in it.
However, this time I must. We had our Annual Dinner on Friday (27th March). Our speaker was Eric Pickles the Party Chairman. The event was hugely over subscribed, despite being more expensive than usual. There is an atmosphere of winning inside the Watford Tories. The leader and the Chairman in 2 weeks!
Our private research shows we are ahead in Watford.
The cheap smears used by our opponents to try and discredit the Party, by exploiting the mental illness of my predecessor sickens the ordinary voter. I think it is horrible, and am complaining their leadership through mutual channels. It is unnecessary and cheapens the whole political process. The Police,probation service and the medical boys dealt with it so well.
Personality politics are used a lot by these people. I won’t descend to their levels. But expect them to continue….it’s all they have got.
