Richard and the Shadow Environment Secretary Greg Clarke visit the BRE
Richard Harrington has visited the Building Research Establishment (BRE) in Garston, Watford, with the Shadow Minister for Environment, Greg Clarke, to see Watford’s new ‘Green House’. During the visit they were shown around the prototype zero carbon house built by the Barratt housing company, situated in the Building Research Establishment innovation park in Garston. Richard Harrington and Greg Clarke were shown around by Mark Clare, Chief Executive of Barratt Developments.
Both Harrington and Clarke were full of praise for the work they saw and were pleased that Watford is yet again making moves towards a greener future and were encouraged by what could be done in the future. Speaking after the event Richard Harrington said: “It’s great to see that Watford has produced the prototype lowest emission house in the Country using the highest standards of energy efficiency. We should be very proud to have the BRE in Watford. It is a credit to all those who work there.”
