Work Experience Crew Help out in Norwich
On the day of the by-election in Norwich North, a 21-strong crew from the Watford Conservative Work experience programme travelled across the country to help out in the campaign. For many, it was their first opportunity to see democracy live in action.
After an early start, everyone drove in convoy to Norwich and began knocking on doors, asking people to come out and vote. The Watford team was given an entire polling district to cover and did a sterling job of knocking on all the doors in a matter of hours.
The day was broken up with a pub lunch hosted by the Conservative Party Chairman, Eric Pickles, at which everyone got the opportunity to quiz him on a variety of issues.
One participant, Olivier Telvi, said, “I had a great time. Meeting Eric Pickles was a real treat. It’s not everyday that you get to meet such a big-hitting politician!”
