Work Experience Programme Starts with a Bang
Yesterday was the induction day for our first lot of work experience participants and by all accounts it all went very well. Fifteen young people joined the programme and spent the day getting to know one another and learning about how election campaigns work. After a few presentations and ice-breaking we beagan doing a bit of what most HR departments like call ‘Team-building’. On paper it all seemed like silly school games and by the time everyone was laughing and joking together, these ’silly games’ proved to be more than worthwhile.
Everyone seems to be truly excited by what is in store and how the programme will help build their skills and confidence and be a great addition to thier CVs.
It totally contradicts most people’s perception of young people that they couldn’t give a stuff about politics. All these young people are very bright and show that they have very intelligent opinions on a range of issues.
