Richard with Andrew Lansley at the hospital. The NHS is safest in Conservative hands.

I have just returned from visiting Watford General Hospital with  Andrew Lansley, the Shadow Secretary of State for Health, and Hertsmere MP James Clappison.

I am very happy to say once more the future of the Watford Health Campus, and indeed the NHS, is safest in Conservative hands.

The wonderfully helpful staff met with us to discuss further the plans for the hospital and the health campus and then took us on an interesting tour of the Acute Admissions Unit.

On the tour,  Andrew gave his backing to the  AAU saying that it was here to stay in Watford.

Andrew said unequivocally, “The AAU is best placed in Watford.”

When it came to discussing the proposed health campus, Andrew came to the same conclusion as James Clappison and myself in supporting it.

He said, “I take the same view that the Strategic Health Authority currently do. That is, this is a project I support.”

This should scotch all the nasty rumours that have been put about opposition politicians. Without any shadow of a doubt, we are the ones looking out for people’s best interests when it comes to healthcare in Watford and the surrounding areas.
