CFI is a vibrant organisation with many friends across the Conservative Party.  We are proud that we have thousands members and supporters ranging from Parliamentarians to party activists from around the country.

The most important work of CFI is taking MPs and candidates to Israel because it gives people a chance to see what happens in the region at first hand. Visits are cultural, political and economic. We travel all over Israel and meet people and politicians from all sides of the political divide. We spend time in the West Bank meeting Palestinian politicians and visit refugee camps.

CFI doesn’t get a blank cheque on policy towards Israel.  We work hard to educate and inform Conservatives on the issues affecting the region. Building relationships, briefing Conservative audiences, supporting the Conservative party cause in general are key to the work we do. That is why we work closely with right-minded think tanks, have a strong presence at Tory Conference and are active on the blogosphere.  We are not just about supporting Israel but are part of the Conservative movement in general.

CFI would be failing in our job if we didn’t have some successes from time to time. When our Parliamentary supporters – against significant odds – courageously stand up for Israel in the Commons and Lords, it makes the work CFI does, day in day out worthwhile.

In that way we are no different from many of the other hundreds of pressure groups making their case to the body politic.
