When I started canvassing in Watford it struck me that young volunteers in all political parties were few and far between. I have always believed that politics could and should be something that young people consider to be both important and exciting. 

Consequently, I decided to start up a work experience programme that gave young people an insight into local campaign politics and chance to boost their skills.

Since we started the programmes last summer we have had four succesful schemes with over 60 young people taking part.

This February half term we will be running another programme, giving young people the chance to get involved in the exiting latter stages of an election campaign.

The programme will run from Sunday 14th until Saturday 20th February between 11 am and 5 pm each day . The week will involve a range of activities from canvassing to street stalls and policy discussions.
